Collaboration and unity are key components in the Institute’s campaign to successfully combat the ever increasing problems contributing to sexual brokenness. The Hope and Healing Institute works in partnership with churches, colleges, youth groups, and businesses designing and tailoring programs to meet the needs of these ministries and organizations.
CHURCHES
The Hope and Healing Institute partners with local congregations by providing educational resources and designing ministry programs so that the church can be a safer place to address and discuss the very sensitive topic of sexuality. Our goal is to integrate the inspiration of faith with insight from the behavioral sciences.
COLLEGES/YOUTH
Youth and young adults are more vulnerable than ever to sexual temptations. They spend a lot of time on the Internet and are constantly bombarded with efforts to undermine their sexual integrity. Respecting and validating their developing sexuality, the Institute offers practical advice in challenging teens and young adults to maintain sexual self-control.
BUSINESSES
Research indicates that 70% of all adult-content Internet traffic occurs between the hours of 9 to 5 and much of this activity is happening in the workplace. In fact, 20% of men and 12% of women report that they use their computers at work for sexual pursuits. The experts at the Institute are available for corporations and businesses to develop Internet-Use policies and to train Human Resource and Employee-Assistance-Program staff in designing awareness and prevention programs as well as treatment and intervention strategies.
CLINICAL TRAINING
The staff at the Hope and Healing Institute provides a wide range of continuing education opportunities for psychologists; social workers; clergy; physicians; nurses; law enforcement; child advocates; educators; mental health workers; protective services; foster care workers; prevention specialists; and attorneys.
INTERNSHIPS
The staff of the Hope and Healing Institute welcomes the opportunity to work with students and each year a limited number of internship opportunities are available. At the Institute, the internships are carefully designed to enhance the student’s competency, offering them an opportunity to integrate theory with practice. Each intern is assigned an advisor with whom there will be regular consultation.
